Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, username, and phone number (if you sign in or verify your account by phone) when you create an account.
• Event content: event names, descriptions, dates, and photos you or your guests upload.
• Optional Instagram handle: a free-text @handle you can add to your profile, shown publicly if set.
• Instagram verification: if you choose to verify an Instagram account by DMing us a code, we receive your Instagram-scoped user ID and the text of that one message from Meta's API, solely to match it against the code you generated. We do not read, store, or access any other messages, and we don't request access to your Instagram contacts or media.

How we use this information

We use your information to operate the service: creating your account, displaying your events and photos to the people you share them with, and confirming ownership of an Instagram account when you request verification. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

SMS / text messaging

By providing your phone number in the Loud Globe app, you consent to receive one-time passcode (OTP) text messages from Loud Globe LLC used to sign in to or verify your account. Message frequency varies and depends on your usage (typically one message per sign-in or verification attempt). Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at theloudglobe@gmail.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Face scan ("Find Me")

To help you find yourself in an event's photos, you can opt in to a one-time face scan. Your phone captures a burst of images of your face and computes a mathematical representation of it (not a photo) on the device itself, then compares it against the faces in that event's photos, also on the device. That representation never leaves your phone and is never written to our servers — for you or for anyone else photographed at the event.

To keep discovery feeds to real events, the phone of an album's host or collaborator may also count how many distinct people appear in it. They can switch this off at any time in the app (Settings → People count). That counting happens entirely on their device, and the device erases what it used once it has gone unused for 30 days; the only thing stored on our servers is the resulting number (for example "62 people"), never face templates or anything that identifies a person.

The photos you confirm as "me" are saved to your account and shown to people who can see that album, until you remove them. We never sell face data or use it for advertising. Face features are not available for events located in Illinois, or to anyone under 18. Everything we do and don't keep, for how long, and how to ask to be removed from an album (no account needed) is in our Face Data Notice.

Declining this feature does not affect any other part of the app.

Flyer scanning (AI)

When creating an event, you can optionally tap "Scan flyer for details" to have your flyer image sent to Anthropic's Claude AI, which reads the image and suggests an event name, date, and other details to pre-fill the form. This only happens when you tap that button. Anthropic processes the image to generate this suggestion; we do not use it for any other purpose, and it is not used to train Anthropic's models.

Photo retention

Photos uploaded to an event are automatically deleted 7 days after upload. Event and account records are kept until you delete your event or account.

Third-party services

We use Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage, and Vercel for hosting. If you use Instagram verification, Meta Platforms, Inc. processes the DM you send us as described above. If you use flyer scanning, Anthropic, PBC processes the flyer image as described above. Each provider has its own privacy practices governing the infrastructure they provide us.

Your choices

You can edit or remove your Instagram handle and username at any time in Settings, or disconnect a verified Instagram account. To delete your account or request removal of your data, contact us using the email below.
